I work from both my at-home studio and from my studio located in downtown Columbia, SC. Working in a diverse array of media, I enjoy drawing in graphite, charcoal, and pastels. I also enjoy mixed media collage. My printmaking practice includes Woodcut Relief, Linoleum Relief, Intaglio, Screen Printing, Monoprint, and Callograph Printing. My painting practice includes alcohol ink, watercolor, and acrylic.
Conceptually, I explore tensions that exist between areas of chaos and order; the areas of collision between confusion and clarity. In my work I investigate questions surrounding mortality, joy, ancestral connection, and defining characteristics of "home". While learning to cope with significant loss in my own life, I explore the cyclical nature of grief and the emotional journey of healing that arrives in the aftermath of loss.
